Black and WhiteNothing about the Doctor and River's relationship is black and white, except one thing...Black and White by Betawhofic
River walked into the Tardis carrying a cluster of three white balloons. She tied them to the stair railing and walked out again.
She walked back in carrying a white vase filled with white flowers. She set them on the stairs.
“River, what are you doing?” the Doctor asked, watching this display in confusion.
She walked past him and silenced him with a kiss. For such a short, soft kiss it tingled him down to his toes.
He watched mystified as she walked off up the interior stairs farther into the Tardis.
She came back down lugging a large, ornate, straightbacked chair. She carried it past him down to the Tardis floor and arranged it in front of the wall scanner. She looked down, nodded, and walked out again.
She walked back in carrying a silvery cloth projector screen, and started setting it up behind the chair.

Amy's kitchen door slammed and she jumped and whirled, spoon in hand.
"Your daughter is impossible!" the Doctor yelled as he stalked across her kitchen, pacing, throwing his arms wide for emphasis.
"What did you do this time?" Amy asked.
"What did I do? Why do you always assume it was my fault?" he said, glaring at her.
"Okay, what did River do?" she asked, putting aside the spoon and turning off the burner under the soup.
He pouted and glared at the floor. "She refused the gift I gave her."
Amy's eyebrows went up. "And what was the gift?"
"A pmpmmp..," he mumbled, wiping his hand over his mouth.
"What?" Amy asked, suspicious.
"A puppy!" He glared up at her as if it was all her fault. "She said she couldn't accept it."
"Well, she couldn't. She couldn't very well keep it in Stormcage. They'd confiscate it, at the very least." She shoved him down in a chair and plopped a mug of tea in f

The Doctor ran in place, bouncing lightly, cooling down. Breaths puffing evenly, bowtie still tied. “It wasn’t that bad.”
She glared up at him. “Sweetie, I will do a lot to see you in shorts.” She glared down at his trousers. “But running 10 kilometers among a group of aliens who consider surviving the race to be an accomplishment, that’s a bit much.”
He grinned at her. “They are a bit cutthroat. You held your own, though.” He beamed down at her with pride.
“It’s not the knives that bothered me, it was the bombs, and pit traps, and tacks!” She glared down at the sole of her foot and rubbed at the red spot there.
He grinned down at his exhausted wife. She looked like an adorable and rather aggressive kit

The Doctor dug his thumbs into River’s scapula and pushed upward.
He slid his hand under her shoulder and pulled back lightly, pressing on her back. She squirmed.
He slid his hands over her tight shoulder, massaging with strong thumbs and fingers, digging in.
He slid his hands up her back, wide across her smooth shoulders, then continued, sliding one large hand up the underside of her arm, stretching her arm up over her head, his hand warm on her satiny skin.
He turned her forearm up, slid his hand up the delicate skin on the underside, and laced his fingers with hers, palm to palm.
Her breath caught.
He pulled up on her hand, and something clicked.
She cussed, and bucked and swore at him. He massaged her shoulder, brushing her hair out of his way.
“Really, River, next time I fall off a cliff, just let me.”
